MAIDA, Teresa - With a heavy heart our beloved mother, grandmother and wife passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with Multiple Myeloma on Wednesday May 20, 2020.
Teresa Maida (nee Monardo) born 82 years ago in Vazzano, Catanzaro, Italy travelled to Toronto in 1957 where she married and proudly called Canada her new home.
Predeceased by her husband Pietro Maida with whom she shared their passion in philanthropy to help others, loving mother to Rina Maida, Frank Maida (Maria "Lucy") and Vito Maida.
Proud "nonna" to Francine (Adrien Staples), Nicholas, Joshua and to Teresa, Peter, Andrew.
She will be sadly missed by her entire family including friends and neighbours and everyone she touched with her unconditional love and joy.
With enormous gratitude to all her doctors through her years and especially to Dr. Suzanne Trudell and the entire team at Princess Margaret Hospital.
During this unprecedented situation with COVID-19, it is with very heavy hearts that our family has made the difficult decision to hold a private funeral with our immediate family. We recognize that the health and safety of our family and friends comes first. We appreciate your love and support at this time, and we welcome your messages of condolence.
