Sharma PushpaSHARMA, Pushpa Rani - Age 83, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020.

She was born to the late Ram Rakha Mal Talib and Lalita Devi on July 17th, 1936. She grew up in India along with her siblings: Usha Kanta Sharma, Abha Sharma, Dev Dutt Sharma, Mahesh Dutt Sharma, Sulekh Chand Sharma, Rajnesh Sharma and Ravinder Sharma.

She married our dad on Feb 8, 1958 and moved from Punjab to live in New Delhi where my dad had a few jobs and started a reprographic business on the side. My mom helped him in this business.

She came to Canada on January 19th, 1990 along with her husband Manohar Lal Sharma and her two children Rajeev Sharma and Seema Sharma to join her eldest son Rakesh Sharma and his wife Indira (Bittu) Sharma) and first granddaughter Bhavna (Reena) Sharma. She was blessed to see her other two children get married: Rajeev Sharma to Kamal Gohite, and Seema Sharma to Rajesh Sharma. She also had 8 other grandchildren: Shailesh Gohite, Inder Krishan Sharma, Mayank Sharma, Divya Sharma, Amit Sharma, Gauri Sharma, Karishma Sharma, and Chaitenya Sharma.

She was a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother who took pride in taking care of her family by catering to their needs. Our mom was a loving and kind person who was always there for us no matter what. She cared and loved everyone and was always willing to help out. As a mom and then as a grandmother she continued to help with the grandkids.

For the past twenty years, from September 2000, she became apart of Sri Radha Krishna Temple where she worked with her husband Manohar Lal Sharma in selflessly taking care of their devotees and day-to-day functions.

Within a month of their arrival in 1990, Pushpa was diagnosed with a slow heart and the monitor showed that her heart stopped twice that night. She was rushed to the hospital where a pacemaker surgery was performed. From that day to this day, it was changed three times. Reflecting to that day, one feels blessed that she was given a new lease on life that lasted almost thirty years. It was possible because of Indira (Bittu) Sharma.

On October 3rd, 2019, Pushpa had a stroke in the temple, and within one and a half hours she was successfully operated. Her dementia became worse with the stroke and she was not able to take care of herself anymore and was admitted to the nursing home. She tested positive to COVID-19 on May 11, 2020 without any symptoms. A week later, on May 18. 2020 we were informed that she is no more.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday May 21st, 2020. Due to the current concerns around COVID-19, a livestream link is being set up to allow the many people who were touched by Pushpa to view the service safely. The family would like to strongly encourage you to use this link, as the number of visitors allowed in is extremely limited.

Thank you for being here and sending your prayers and love through this difficult time. MOM we love you and MISS you.
