Horton LillianHORTON, Lillian May (Shaw) (Major, Salvation Army - R) - (1925 - 2020) - In her 95th year, Lillian was peacefully "Promoted to Glory" into the arms of her loving Saviour Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 17th, 2020.

Loving mother of her 3 children; Doug (the late Kim), Carol (John), and Bob (Donna); 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ethel (Horace) and Alice (Charlie) both of Nova Scotia.

She was predeceased by her husband John in 1998.

In 1945, Lillian Shaw entered the Salvation Army Training College from Halifax North Corps. She was commissioned a member of the Challengers session 1946. Her first appointment was to Edmunston, N.B.

In 1948 Lillian was married to lieutenant John Horton. Following their marriage, they were appointed to several centres in the Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario and Saskatchewan. IN 1968, they were appointed to Jackson's Point THQ Camp as the administrators. This was followed by an appointment of John to the Correctional Department and Lillian to the Home League Department until their retirement in 1987.

She will be resting at Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, Weston, Ontario. Visitation is from 1:30 until service time in the Chapel of the Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. A private service of interment will take place on Monday in the Salvation Army Plot, Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Memory of Lillian be directed to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Palliative Care Unit K1E/K1C, 2075 Bayview Ave, Toronto, ON M4N 3M5 or the Salvation Army Meighen Retirement Residence, 84 Davisville Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. M4S 1G1
