HOHOLUK, William (Wasyl) - Born December 22, 1927 in Petriw, Ukraine, peacefully passed on June 25, 2020 in Scarborough Centenary Hospital.
Bill left home in 1941 and, after challenging travels through war-torn Europe, emigrated to Canada in 1949 where he initially travelled to Medicine Hat, Alberta and ultimately to Toronto, Ontario.
Loving Husband of 66 years to Joyce (Willson).
Father to John and Kathleen (Hillis). Father-in-law to Jamie (Hillis) and Barbara (Cuddy).
He was Grandfather to Allison (married to Matthew Beatty), Scott, Devon (married to Kyla Warcup) and Jamie, and also Great Grandfather to Patrick (Beatty), Abigail (Beatty) and Beckett Hoholuk.
Wasyl (Bill) was the son of Ivan and Anastasie and brother to Anna, Maria, Slawko, Mykalo and Patrina.
Bill was hardworking but knew how to balance that with a great sense of humour, and a sensitive side that he was not afraid to share. He was a great example of a loving family man, and worked hard and sacrificed to ensure that his family was happy and well provided for. He was, is, and always will be, hero to many that knew him.
Bill was laid to rest in a private family service on June 30th.
