Goldman IdaGOLDMAN, Ida - On Wednesday, July 29, 2020.

Ida Goldman was a woman of small stature, but she had the reserves of strength, courage, and love more suited to a giant.

Ida was a Holocaust survivor. That in itself is an illustration of these traits but it is not enough. Ida also ensured the survival of her mother and brother.

She immigrated to Canada along with Simon Goldman, her spouse and her son, Allan in 1948 and proceeded to make a home in a land where she did not know the language or the customs. But through hard work and perseverance, Ida made a warm and loving home for Allan and the twins, Eva and Lionel.

Ida's strength was challenged by the premature deaths of her husband Simon (1982) and her beloved daughter Eva (1997).

But her strength asserted itself and she took much comfort and joy in the love and success of her grandchildren, Jessica, David, Susie, Lee, Simon, Alex and Jay. Her heart burst with pride on the birth of David's and Kareen's son Max - her great grandchild. And she experienced more joy when she received news of the imminent birth of a granddaughter, the child of Simon and Rachel.

Ida's passing leaves her family bereft but secure in the knowledge that Ida lived life her way, independent and lucid until the end. She loved well and was much loved in return.

Arrangements with Benjamin's Park chapel. A Private Family Graveside service will be held on Friday, July 31st.
