Lumia MariaLUMIA, Maria - Born on January 8, 1935 (Cattolica Eraclea, Sicily), Maria Lumia (Calderone) passed away peacefully on August 7, 2020 in Toronto from pancreatic cancer at the age of 85 years.

Maria will be lovingly remembered by her children, Maria (Anthony) Forte, Gerry (Antonella dec.) Lumia; siblings Raimondo (dec.) (Giovanna), Vito (Angela dec.), Antonino (Concetta); grandchildren John Forte (Anna), Frank Forte (Christine), Loredana Forte (Greg), Alek Lumia, Sabrina Lumia; great grandchildren Emma, Anthony, Lucas, Marianne, Eleni, Aristides; and many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Toronto, Montreal, Germany, Italy and the United States.

Maria was predeceased by husband Francesco (1992).

Maria was accomplished at cooking, baking, crocheting and bringing joie de vivre to every room she entered. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren beyond measure; singing and dancing with them and preparing their favourite foods.

A loving spirit, Maria will be dearly remembered by family and friends for her abundant joy, care, generosity and concern for all.

*Due to the present situation and restrictions with Covid19 the family is having a private funeral.  Arrangements with Delmoro Funeral Home, 61 Beverly Hills Drive, Toronto, ON.  

Donations in Maria Lumia's memory can be made to Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or Providence Health Care.
