Joyce ZillahJOYCE, Zillah - In the early hours of August 11, 2020, Zillah Joyce peacefully closed her eyes in her room in Bethany Lodge, Unionville, Ontario, with family by her side and opened them in the presence of her beloved Lord Jesus Christ.

Born Zillah Glendinning in County Colraine, Northern Ireland on July 11th, 1939, Zillah emigrated to Canada at the age of 13 with her family and lived in Toronto, Ontario and attended the Pape Avenue Gospel Hall where she met and eventually married Douglas Joyce of Toronto.

The daughter of the late John and Jenny Glendinning, she was the youngest of eight children. She is predeceased by her siblings Audrey Riddles (late Robbie), Hylands Glendinning (late Ruth), Idena Brewster (late Fred), and Garfield Glendinning.

Zillah is lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Douglas; her children, Steve (Theresa), Vivienne and Rod (Sheryl); and her siblings, Pauline Lee (Cecil), Lorraine Darnell (Stan) and Herman Glendinning (late Barb).

She dearly loved her five grandchildren Kyle, Kiera, Emily, Nathan, and Katie.

She is a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. We will miss her until we meet again in heaven.

Zillah trusted in the Lord Jesus as her Saviour at an early age and loved to read the Bible.

One of the passages lived practically in her life is Proverbs 3:5,6 - “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path.”

The funeral and visitation will be held at Chapel Ridge, Markham, Ontario as follows: Visitation: Friday, August 14th, 2020 – 6:00 – 9:00 p.m, and Saturday, August 15th, 2020 – 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Service: Saturday, August 15th – 3:00 p.m. with internment to follow.

There will also be a live stream of the service through the Chapel Ridge website.

Donations in Zillah’s memory can be made to Bethany Lodge where Zillah received wonderful, loving care for which we are so grateful.
