Ross CharmaineROSS, Charmaine Elizabeth - Long-term resident of Scarborough, ON, died unexpectedly on November 12, 2020.

Charmaine is survived by her husband, Jim Ross; three daughters, Taniqua, Tasholah and Tara; her 4 grandchildren; her parents, and her siblings: Karen, Karl and Dean.

Born December 4, 1960 in Kingston, Jamaica, Charmaine was the eldest daughter of Gerda Johnson and Osmond Walker. She was just a child when she immigrated to Canada. She thrived in school, showing a natural talent for learning languages.

She graduated with Honours from York University where she also met Jim Ross. They were married June 18, 1983 and together, they raised three wonderful daughters (plus several family dogs).

An avid gardener, Charmaine enjoyed browsing the aisles of plant nurseries for a special find to bring home. She loved the adventure of exploring new places through travel, but getting lost in a juicy book was just as good. Her love for cooking meant she always had a meal to share with those who dropped by.

A spiritual woman, she volunteered with the St. Joseph Catholic Women’s League. Charmaine was also an animal lover and a strong advocate for equality for women and girls.

With Jim, she built a welcoming home filled with warmth, comfort and wonderful family traditions, which is why she will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Asthma Canada or Because I Am A Girl (Plan Canada).
