McKenzie AlmaMcKENZIE, Alma Obelstone (Southwood/Europa) McKenzie - Alma Obelstone, passed away at New Groves Hospital in Fergus, Ont., on January 10, 2021, at the age of 88.

Mother to Roger (Kamla), Howard and Michael (Brenda).

She is survived by her 3 sons and 2 grandchildren Katie (J.P.), Christine (Andre) and her great-grandchild Abigail.

Many thanks to the caring staff at New Groves Hospital in Fergus, especially Dr. Jafferjee and Dr. Finnegan.

A special thanks to Renee Pater and John Hollen for looking out for our Mom and for being there for her.

Thanks to the skilled First Responders who swiftly went into action upon arriving at the house ever so quickly.

Alma was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, settling in England with family for 7 years and then immigrating to Toronto, Canada with husband Ken and the 2 older boys -- then to Renfrew, Ont. (where Michael was born) and then back to Scarborough. Alma enjoyed the last few years of her life living in Elora, Ont.

close to her sons Howard and Michael, who both supported her in her day-to-day social life as well as relying on Roger and other family members for more love and support.

She loved to dance as evidenced at granddaughter Katie's wedding 2 years ago and was looking forward to more dancing at her other granddaughter Christine's pending wedding.

Alma's family would also like to thank the many friends she made in Elora and Fergus who made her feel special and loved.

She will be sorely missed by all, especially her 3 year old great-granddaughter Abby with whom she so enjoyed seeing as often as possible. We loved her dearly.
