Greenspan GloriaGREENSPAN, Gloria Goldie Garshowitz Glayt   - We are saddened by the sudden loss of a vibrant young 91-year-old.

Gloria Goldie Garshowitz Greenspan Glayt, referred to as GG by her friends at Shalom Village, was born on November 26, 1929.

She died peacefully at Shalom Village on January 18, 2021, after a 3 week illness.

Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend, saw the world through rose coloured glasses.

She was predeceased by her husband Samuel Greenspan, her son Barry Greenspan, brother Barrel Garshowitz, sister Ruthie Garshowitz, Parents Freda and Max Garshowitz.

She will be dearly missed by her children Larry Greenspan (Seleen Brewer and Alex Eidelman, Reece and River Eidelman, Shane Brewer and Melanie Couckuyt), Sharon and Bob Thorne (Lisa Thorne, Sonya and Charles Armstrong, Isabelle and Olivia Armstrong), Ruth Greenspan and Isaac Rashid (Sam Rashid, Sarah Rashid, Keenan Lynch and Jacob Rashid) and Sandra Maygard.

She touched everyone she knew with her kindness, her love of family and community, her amazing baking, her desire to volunteer and give back.

She loved to dance, act, paint, knit, garden, woodwork and play BINGO. Above all, she was a non-judgmental person and it is a tribute that she passed not only on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but also on the 18th... Chai, cheers to life!!!!

Donations can be made in her honour to Shalom Village or a charity of your choice.
