Devoted father to Karen Ashby, Gail Middleton (Mike), granddaughter Jacqueline Ashby (Andrew).
Survived by older brother Leslie (Mary Jeanne).
Uncle to five nephews and nieces.
He joins brother Murray (Barbara). He will be remembered for his great sense of humour and his wonderful smile.
He wished to outlive his peers and he did it at 96.
