Meneses DemetriaMENESES, Demetria Bautista - (April 5, 1942 - February 20, 2021)

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Demetria Bautista Meneses on Friday February 20, 2021 at Scarborough Rouge Valley hospital at the age of 78.

She is survived by her children: Raymundo (Dina Valerio), Jim John (Joylene Fernandez), William (Carolina Lopez), Marjorie (Fernando Blas)

Grandchildren: Ashley, William Jr., Johnna-Lene, Demi Lianne, Brandon, Jhazz, Lara, Dori & Jason

Great-grandchildren: Arielle-Jazlene, Katelyn, Shay, Tamia, & William III

Demetria was born in Dagupan, Pagasinan, Philippines and moved to Canada in 1988.

A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was fondly called “Mother” by all family members and close friends alike. A humble woman who always put family first. She was known to call her adult children everyday to see how they’re doing and if they got to work or home in one piece. That was who she was. Making sure we were all safe and sound so she can continue to go about her day without worry.

“Thank you for raising us, taking care of us and loving us the way that you did. We will miss your voice, your humming, your smell of Oil of Olay, your pancit, your ginataang munggo (or as the grandchildren call it, “Mothers crazy soup”) … We will miss your phone calls, your cooking, the way you said “BEAUTY QUEEN” ... We have countless memories with you that we will never forget and will forever cherish. You are so loved, Mother.”

The family would like to express their gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at Scarborough Rouge Valley Hospital, Sunnybrook hospital + VON nurses, VHA & PSW’s who have worked tirelessly on her since August 2018.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, her funeral service will be private. Private mass and burial – Tuesday February 23rd. Arrangements with Ogden funeral home. An online link will be emailed to ones who wish to view the service. Please see a family member for the link.
