Eaton FredEATON, Fredrik Stefan - Of Toronto, OC, OOnt, Silver Jubilee Medal, Hon. LL.D. (University of New Brunswick), Hon. Litt.D. (Queens University Belfast), Citizen of the City of London, died at home in Caledon, peacefully on Saturday, February 20, 2021 surrounded by his family, aged 82.

Married 58 years to the love of his life, Catherine Howard (Nicky) Eaton (nee Martin).  Loving father of Fredrik D’Arcy, and Flora Catherine (Rob).

Devoted grandfather to Signy, Robert, Fredrik, and William. 

He loved his family, Friends, and good humour.

Businessman, diplomat, philanthropist, author. Passionate hunter, fisherman, conservationist, mariner, aviation enthusiast, and patron of the fine arts.  He lived a full and happy life.

Chairman, President, and CEO of the T. Eaton Company, Ltd.  Director of the TD Bank, Baton Broadcasting, Masonite, The Toronto Telegram, Abitibi, Canada Packers, Norcen, Trizec, Hollinger Inc.  Chairman White Raven Capital Corp, Bill’s Dollar Stores, Choctaw Maid Chicken, Tops Friendly Markets.

High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

Chairman Toronto General Hospital, Canadian Museum of History.  Chancellor, University of New Brunswick.  President Art Gallery of Ontario.  Director Bata Shoe Museum, Honorary Director Royal Ontario Museum, Founder and Trustee of the Catherine and Fredrik Eaton Charitable Foundation.
