Petropoulos TomPETROPOULOS, Athanasios 'Tom' - January 5, 1951 - February 21, 2021 - Passed away peacefully with family by his side.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife Tina of forty-five years.

Loving father of Angelene (David) and Jo-Anne (MJ), and cherished Detho of Lucas, Aidan, Thomas, Bennett and Mateus.

Beloved brother of Tony (Stephanie) and Helen (Nick), and brother-in-law of John (Aphrodite) and caring uncle to his nephews and niece.

Tom’s greatest joys came from spending time with his family. He spoke lovingly about his family, especially his grandsons. He went from playing barbies while his daughters were young to playing hockey and soccer with his grandsons. He enjoyed golfing with his three eldest grandsons, going for long walks with his wife, and gardening with his two younger grandsons.

He was a lifelong learner who took every opportunity to share his knowledge: from improving a golf swing or kicking a soccer ball, the easy way to gather leaves, building and flooding an ice rink, to crimping a pie crust. Most of all, he found enjoyment in the simplest of things. When he was diagnosed with cancer, he faced it with courage and strength and cherished the time that remained by spending it with his family.

Funeral Arrangements with Dixon - Garland Funeral Home, Markham, on Thursday, February 25. A private funeral service for immediate family will be held on Friday, February 26 at 11 a.m. Burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or Food Banks Canada, in memory of Tom.
