DIMAND, David Colin - May 27, 1956 – March 4, 2021 - Dave passed away from pancreatic cancer at Southlake Regional Health Centre on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the age of 64.

Loving husband of 38 years to Sharon. Beloved father to Matthew (Katherine) and Laura (Alex). Cherished grandfather to Austin and Owen. Dearest brother to Marion (Chester).

Dave was born in Bishop Auckland, England to his beloved parents Elisabeth and Eddie. Early in his childhood, Elisabeth and Eddie immigrated to Toronto, Canada with Dave and older sister, Marion. Dave lived with and battled type 1 insulin-dependent diabetes for over 60 years.

Dave and Sharon created a successful locksmith business together, which Matthew ultimately joined and helped expand significantly. Sharon and Matthew will continue to carry on the business. One of Dave’s greatest passions was cars – he took care, joy, and pride in his 1966 AC Cobra “Poisonous”, which he built. Friends from car meets know him as “Cobra Dave”.

In addition to his love of cars, Dave had many passions.

Dave loved to travel, especially to visit family in Israel and Germany – he was looking forward to many years of worldly travel with Sharon in their retirement.

Dave was the go-to guy for close friends and family who needed help with nearly anything that needed fixing.

Dave could often be found playing games with friends and family, especially his grandchildren Austin and Owen.

Due to COVID restrictions, the family will be postponing a Celebration of Life at this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the fundraiser in Dave’s name for the Pancreatic Cancer Canada Foundation.
