Thornhill MarvaTHORNHILL, Marva (nee Johnson) - Retired, British-trained Registered Nurse from Toronto.

Marva died peacefully at her home in Toronto on Sunday March 28th, at the age of 84.

For 55 years she was the beloved wife and best friend of Fred Thornhill. She was the loving sister of Ebert and his wife Linda, Selwyn and his wife Merline, Clayton and his wife Maria, Irma and her husband Harold, Roslyn and her husband Clyde, and Joyce.

She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews including Wayne, Denyse, Nicole, and Andrew.

Marva will be greatly missed by her family, relatives and her many friends.

Marva grew up in San Fernando, Trinidad where she attended Naparima Girl's High School. After training at a hospital in Hampstead Heath, England, Marva moved to Canada in 1964 where she met and married her husband Fred. Marva was a registered nurse-midwife and Medical Records Librarian who worked in many Toronto Hospitals.

In her later years Marva courageously battled Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus which confined her to a wheelchair for many years. She did not complain or let it diminish her quick wit, and sense of humour.

Private funeral arrangements are entrusted with Ward Funeral Home - Weston Chapel, Toronto.
