Richardson DesmondRICHARDSON, Desmond Joseph - Passed away peacefully, with his loving family at his side, on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, in his 98th year.

Devoted husband and best friend to the late Kay (Witmer) Richardson.

Beloved father of Peter (Colette), Mary Ann (Chris), John (predeceased), Jay (predeceased) and Sue (Tom).

Cherished grandfather to Caitlin (Phill), Laura (Trevor), Brendan, Joanna (Mack), Amanda, Anika and Renee. Great grandfather to Alex, Joshua, Alyssa & Jack.

Beloved son of Thomas James (Belfast) and Margaret McCloskey (Dungiven).

Dear brother to Agnes (McCartney), Tom, Marg (Farrell), Harry, Terry & Mary (Grant), all predeceased.

Desmond was born in East York and lived in the same home for almost 100 years. He was an English teacher, retired from the Scarborough Board of Education.

Des was an avid fisherman, a country music lover and a long-time parishioner of Canadian Martyrs Catholic Church. He will be greatly missed by his extended family members and friends.

Desmond’s family wishes to thank the staff of the Houses of Providence and all caregivers and friends who have supported him during these past few years.

Due to pandemic restrictions, the funeral services will be private, but we hope to have a memorial celebration when circumstances allow.
