Urie AudreyURIE, Audrey (Rutherford)- Passed away peacefully, with her loving family at her side on March 31, 2021.

Beloved mother of Tom and David (Jennifer).

Aunt to Gregory (Tracey) and Pamela, who was her travelling partner and close friend.

Her humour and strength of character will be greatly missed by her many friends at Chartwell Grenadier where she lived these last many years, especially by Margot, Mary, Cathy, Maria, and Sarana.

Her absence from the many activities she was involved-in will be keenly felt.

Audrey worked many years in forensic accounting, starting with Lindquist Holmes in the 1980’s up until her retirement from KPMG. Prior to that she had worked many years at the O’Keefe Center. During her career her straight-forward style and good humour made her many friends, in particular Anne, who will all miss her greatly.

She had a great love for cats and having shared space with many over the years, her most recent memory was of her Sasha, who predeceased her several years ago.

Audrey’s family wishes to thank the nursing and PSW staff at Chartwell Grenadier, the Toronto LHIN, and VHA for the care provided in her home, but especially to the nurses, staff, doctors and volunteers at the Dorothy Ley Hospice where she spent her final days. If desired, donations to the Dorothy Ley Hospice would be appreciated, in support of their important work in providing end-of-life care.

A private service for family to say farewell and pay respects will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, but due to COVID, a memorial to honour her life and memory will be delayed until it is safer to gather together.
