Cochrane GeorgeCOCHRANE, George Ernest   -  1928 - 2021 It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of George Ernest Cochrane, peacefully, in his sleep, on Friday, April 2, 2021, at the age of 92.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Rachel (nee O'Keefe), parents James and Sarah Cochrane and brother Jack (Jean).

Loving father of Mary Cormier (late Doug), Mike (Rita) Cochrane, and Mark (Cindy) Cochrane.

Sadly missed by his brother, Jim (Arlene) and sister, Anna (late Jim Figgens). Dearly loved by his grandchildren, Sarah (Trevor), Laura (Ben), Emma (Matt), Renée (Allan), Hanna, and Erica (Julien).

Very proud great-grandpa of Bridget, Sawyer, Georgia, Luca and Leo.

Forever in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, especially Roger Bate, who had Dad chuckling with a joke every week.

George was born in Toronto on June 8, 1928, and grew up in Cabbagetown, which he often recounted in his many happy memories of living there. It was here he met the love of his life, Rachel, and they married in 1949.

He worked for CP and then 36 years with Bell Canada, where his job eventually brought the family to Ottawa in 1963, where they met many new friends.

A special thank you also to Dr. Milko for his kindness and care. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no visitation.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Patrick's Fallowfield Parish. Masks, social distancing, and pre-registration mandatory; please call Kelly Funeral Home, Kanata Chapel, to confirm your attendance. Seating is limited.

A Celebration of George's Life will be held at a later date, when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, so he can be remembered by the many people who loved him. Donations to Parkinson Canada, Canadian Cancer Society, or Carebridge.ca.
