Redford MargaretREDFORD, Margaret  -  March 31, 2021, Margaret Edith Redford (nee Gillings) 80 years at True Davidson Acres, Toronto.

Born April 14, 1940 in Haliburton, to Rev. James W. Gillings and Norma R. Dunk.

Wife to Donald B. Redford, sister of Douglas (Anu Marley), James (Bonnie Taylor-Gillings), Sharon-Ruth, and (the late) David Gillings.

Mother of Philip (Janet Fishlock) and Christopher (Lee Dantzer), grandmother of Nicole and Mallory Redford, step-grandmother of Ethan Fishlock, Stanley Gongliewski and Robert Badyrka.

Remembered by nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and friends.

Valedictorian of her high school at Golden Lake. BA in history, MA in Social Work, and attended Law School, all at the University of Toronto. September 6, 1958, she married Donald and they raised Philip and Christopher.

Having suffered from mental illness throughout adult life, Margaret later served on advisory boards at St. Michael's Hospital and CAMH, lobbying for better housing and support for the mentally ill.

She loved to paint, read, argue politics, and by her own admission enjoyed a good 'sick joke.' We are heavy with sorrow, but thankful her suffering has passed.

Few have so successfully sustained such a gentle, caring spirit through adversity. She will continue to be our hero and source of moral support.

Donations can be made to The Schizophrenia Society of Canada: https:// schizophrenia.ca/ or The Institute for Advancements in Mental Health: https://www. iamentalhealth.ca.
