Plock JanetPLOCK, Janet (Cadenhead) - Janet passed away peacefully on April 10, 2021 with her two sons at her bedside in the place she loved most–her home on the same street in North Toronto where she had been born, had grown up, and had raised her family.

Predeceased by Albert George Plock, her former husband of 22 years.

Janet will be dearly missed by sons, Sean (Laurie), and Christopher (Anindita), daughter, Sarah.

Much loved grandchildren, Keefer, Aaron (Angie), Tyler, Meagan (Anthony), Andrew, and Aiden, and treasured great-grandchildren, Kylie, Hannah, Addison, and Keefer.

Janet’s family was the light of her life.

Born on June 19, 1935, to parents Loveday (née King) and Keefer Cadenhead (who noted any of her misdemeanors with a twinkle in his eye), Janet attended John Wanless Public School, then Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute, completing her post-secondary education at the Toronto Teachers’ College.  She later graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in French from Glendon College, York University.

She began her elementary school teaching career at Park School (York District), working with special needs students (Opportunity Class) and, until her retirement from Armour Heights Public School in 1992, taught grades 1 through 6 in various combinations, and diverse subjects, including French.

Janet was also passionate about travel, whether taking each of her grandchildren to mark their 10th birthday to whatever destination they chose (New Zealand, England, Italy, Central and Northern Europe, etc.), or visiting family and friends across Canada, or walking the neighbourhood with her Nordic poles.

The family is planning a celebration of Janet’s life when COVID-19 restrictions permit.

If desired, donations to the Salvation Army will be appreciated.
