Duncan LindaDUNCAN, Linda Ann (nee Crocker) - Linda passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on Saturday, April 24th 2021 at the Etobicoke General Hospital, after a short but tough battle with Covid.

Beloved wife of John, for nearly 53 wonderful years. Loving mother of Andrew (Alison) and Courtney (Petar). Cherished grandmother to two adored grandchildren, Cole and Vivien. Linda will also be deeply missed by her brother Steve (Heather).

Linda was born October 26, 1942 in Weston, Ontario, a neighbourhood that held a special place in her heart for her entire life. Linda spent nearly 45 years working at Dominion and A&P in their head office.

On her retirement, Linda spent her time volunteering at The Dorothy Ley Hospice and spent countless hours lending a helping hand and sympathetic ear to anyone who needed it.

Linda’s passion for helping others led her to work part time at Ward Funeral home for many years during her “retirement”. Many great friendships were formed and Linda truly enjoyed being a member of the team at Ward.

Linda enjoyed travelling the world, spending countless hours with friends and family and shopping like it was her job. Linda’s home was truly her castle and making it a warm, comfortable place for both friends and family was a passion she held near and dear to her heart. A Dachshund owner for decades, her love of the breed and the joy they brought to her was well known to all who knew her. Linda was the life of the party, making lifelong friends wherever she went. Whether it was on her countless vacations, her time at work or a simple trip to the store, Linda would inevitably leave with a new BFF.

A strong woman, Linda was champion to anyone who needed a fearless and strong voice in their corner.

A special thankyou to the tireless doctors and nurses at the Etobicoke General Hospital Covid ward. Your dedicated efforts did not go unnoticed or under appreciated. Another huge thank you to all of John and Linda’s neighbours and friends. You have made an incredibly difficult time so much easier with your kindness, support and generosity. Linda will be missed by John more than anyone will ever know.

In closing “If you will, remember me occasionally. I would like that: but no mourning please. Death in old age is a solution, not a tragedy”

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Dorothy Ley Hospice would be greatly appreciated.

A private memorial service will be held on Monday May 3rd at Ward Funeral Home “Weston Chapel” at 10:30 am. The family invites you to join the service via livestream.
