ELDER, Sarah - It is with great sadness that, on Sunday, April 25, 2021, Sarah Margaret Elder (Bruce) passed away peacefully at home, at the age of 82, in Markham, Ontario.
Sarah was born in August 1938 in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.
Sarah was a loving wife to John G. Elder for more than 62 years.
Sarah and John emigrated from Northern Ireland in 1957 and settled originally in Alberta.
They wed in August 1958 at St. David's Anglican Church in Edmonton.
Soon after the birth of their first child, they moved east, ultimately settling on Markham as their home.
Sarah will be fondly remembered for her love of fine cooking, spring flowers in the garden, and wonderful road trip adventures when her children were younger. Sarah will be deeply missed by her spouse, John, her children, Janice (and spouse Markus), Shauna and Kevin (and spouse Michelle) and her grandchildren, Andrea, Amanda, Steven, Sean and Hannah.
Her memory will live on forever in us. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private service was held in Markham, on Thursday, April 29, 2021.
The Elder family would like to graciously thank those who have offered their love and support during this difficult time.
