DIXON, Fred - (1938 - 2021) - It is with great sadness that the family of Fred Dixon announces his passing on May 4th, 2021.Fred passed away Tuesday evening peacefully and comfortably at home, with his loving wife and daughters, by his side.
Fred will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 60 years, Janet, devoted daughter Addrene, Son-in-Law Ihor, caring daughter Donna and loving granddaughters Danya, Larissa and Tiffiney. Fred had a very close connection with all of his many nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters, who will also miss him dearly.
Fred had a long, successful career in Policing, starting with Metro Police, then Toronto Township which became Mississauga Police and ultimately Peel Regional Police. He then went on to start his own Landscaping business, a very successful Ford car parts business and most recently, his Antique Radio business.
Fred, never without a friendly demeanor and big smile, had a true love for life which came out in everything he did (and he did it all!)
Whether it was fixing up his old radios in his workshop, meeting up weekly with his buddies, chatting every Monday with his Best friend of 70 years, showcasing his photography, backyard BBQs overseeing “James” (Ihor) handle the grill, obtaining his pilot’s licence, scuba diving license, touring Ontario in his old cars with the ACCCC (his old car club), swimming with the grandkids in the backyard, playing with the dogs, all of the dogs; he truly enjoyed it all.
Fred’s love for all things radio came out at a young age and remained a constant hobby throughout his life.
He shared this hobby with friends, siblings and nephews.
Fred was a proud member of Radio Amateurs Canada (RAC) for decades.
Fred felt quite accomplished when he “finally” obtained his 2 letter call letter (CZ) but he will always remain, “Victor Easy Number 3z, Dog Victor George “ to Jan.

We all know Freddie was a big-kid at heart, his passport shows that he has visited Walt Disney World (Wally World) over 35 times. He loved his Mickey Bars and Big Thunder Mountain.
Fred was generous with his time, loved life and was always eager to learn something new, master it and then teach it - he was truly someone who loved to share.
It would be an understatement to say that Fred and his unforgettable, booming laugh will be missed greatly, by all who knew him.
In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated. A celebration of his life will be announced when pandemic restrictions have ended. Arrangements entrusted with Skinner and Middlebrook funeral home, Mississauga.
