PARISH, Gordon Francis James - (15 August, 1945 – 5 May, 2021) -
Our beloved Gord passed away unexpectedly on May 5, 2021, alone at Mackenzie Health hospital, as a result of lack of adequate and timely care.
Gord wasn’t allowed to be visited in person by his loved ones during his 24-day stay at the hospital, due to rigid, inhumane COVID protocols, and while he critically needed our love and support, we could not be there to comfort him in person. We will never forget.
Gord was Zeina’s loving husband and Anita’s and Francis’s devoted father.
Known for his kindness and generosity, Gord would never hesitate to offer help and comfort to family, friends or anyone who needed it.
In the Hockey community, Gord was known as ‘the ultimate hockey dad,' offering unwavering support and guidance to his son, Francis, to pursue his dream of becoming an OHL and eventually an NHL hockey player. Gord is gone too soon, but Francis will pursue this dream and hopes his dad would be ‘hovering’ around to see it come true.
Gord is gone too soon. We will miss his endless comforting hugs.
Gordie, we love you and miss you tremendously, and will keep you forever in our hearts.
