Bruce EvelynBRUCE, Evelyn Sarah - Peacefully, surrounded by family, Evelyn passed in her 98th year on Tuesday, May 11, 2021.

Evelyn now joins her loving husband Norman, leaving children Jack, Douglas and (Bruna), Elaine and (Stephan Bartolini), beloved grandchildren Christopher, Vanessa & (Brian King), Tara and (Jeffrey Carlson), Alanaand (Nathan Clark) and cherished great granddaughter Camille.

Evelyn was born in Toronto in 1923 into a large Irish family.

Weekends were spent travelling by train and then horse and carriage to family farms in King Township.

Through her large extended family she learned many life skills; she could pluck a chicken, sew a dress and play the piano, just to start with.

Evelyn and Norman met at Sunnyside Pool when they were both 14 yrs old and he was the love of her life.

After returning from the second world war Norman suffered from undiagnosed PTSD. Evelyn's unwavering love, compassion and support throughout their marriage helped Norman become a successful man and father.

Her lifelong commitment to the United Church community and many charities kept her busy where she made many good friends. She loved running the charity fashion show!

When entertaining family and friends, Evelyn sported the latest fashion, accessorized with colourful jewelry and with a smile she would say, "Would you like a cup of tea?"

We would like to acknowledge the staff of St. Joseph's Villa in Dundas. The commitment and kindness of the nurses and PSW's especially during these difficult days was inspiring.
