McMillan WilliamMCMILLAN, William John Ffrench - Passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, May 14, 2021. In his short 28 years of life, William's kind, thoughtful and creative nature touched everyone he met. From the day he was born he brought smiles and laughter into our lives.

Even as a small child attending Blessed John XXIII Catholic Elementary School in Unionville, William always thought about the needs of others in his class and was always so excited to share what he had or learned with his friends and teachers. In high school at St. Augustine's he remained the same caring individual, always concerned about his friends.

William enjoyed attending Ohio State University and later Hamilton's McMaster University. He was ever so pleased about the English course he took one summer at Harvard University, and made us all proud when he achieved a grade of A-.

William was a creative individual who could write poetry, wrote and published a novel on Amazon, and became a skilled baker. He also loved programming, the outdoors and making others happy, especially his family.

William is survived by his parents, Chester and Sharon and his dear sister Hannah. He also leaves his maternal grandfather, Alvin Ffrench; uncles Andrew Ffrench, Errol Clarke (Ann) and Ronnie McMillan of Dayton, OH; aunts Jill Cole of Akron, Pam Downs (Marvin) of Burton, MI and; Angela Lawrence; and many precious cousins in Toronto and throughout the United States and the United Kingdom.

William is predeceased by his much loved paternal grandparents Mattie and Chester McMillan Sr. of Akron, OH, and his dear maternal "Nana" Miriam Ffrench - we pray they are caressing and comforting William now.

Donations in William's memory can be sent to ShareLife.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham. In keeping with COVID restrictions, a Funeral Mass will be held for the immediate family on Friday, May 21, 2021, 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Markham.
