GREEN, Alexander - (July 2, 1951April 24, 2021) -

Alexander Green, Affectionately known as ‘Alex’ to almost everyone who knew him, was a man of God. He and I met through my sisters who attended the same church as Alex at the time.

Alex was quite outspoken and could be stubborn as well. When it was all said and done though, he truly meant no harm and he loved everyone dearly. He was one of the kindest persons I ever came across in my lifetime. He was a true partner, and for that I will miss him tremendously.

Alex and I lived countries apart, yet he would make every effort to visit me as often and as long as he could. Due to the current pandemic he was not able to visit me for over a year. I never thought the last time he came to visit would have been the last time.

Alex was a person who bought and accumulated things whenever he was about to make a trip over to me. He would take pride in buying any and everything for his wife; this included food. I remember this one time he was telling me about this ice-cream that he found and liked. Would you believe in the winter he made sure to wrap that same type of cream in a container, placed ice all around it just so I could partake.

Alex was selfless, always putting others before him. If you had a problem he was always willing to assist with prayer first, and anything else after. I love him so much and was so heartbroken that I was unable to be with him during his illness; even more so, his last days. He was so brave, always putting on a strong front.

Alex was a true believer in the gospel and had faith like Job, always believing in ‘God’s Will’. This faith almost never wavered, and in the end it gave him a sense of peace that passeth all understanding; like that spoken of in Philippians. Apart from my children Alex was the only other person I spoke to every day multiple times a day; this was for over eight years.

His passing has left a void in me; he was my other half and now he has made his transition. I am comforted however in the fact that he is no longer in pain and that he is resting in the arms of the Lord. The Bible tells me that Alex is in paradise and though he is dead, yet shall he live. Therefore, I know we will meet again… Sleep on and take your rest my love.

Arrangements entrusted with Giffen-Mack funeral home, Scarborough Chapel. Private services May 15th.
