Loving husband of the late Stavroula (Voula), father to Nancy and Peter (Toula) and grandfather to Stella.

Sotirios “Sam” came to Canada to seek a better life in 1958. He married Stavroula (Voula) in 1959, followed by the birth of their children, Nancy & Peter.

He is predeceased by his sister Margarita, brothers Dimitrios and Anastasios and survived by sister Katerina.

He will be remembered for his kind and generous spirit by everyone who knew him and will be missed by many relatives and close friends in Canada, the US and Greece.

As a husband, Sam was loving and supportive to his wife, Voula. As a father, he showed his children love, affection and understanding, teaching valuable lessons on life along the way.

As a Grandfather, he was proud and happy to have his one and only beautiful granddaughter Stella, Stavroula.

He became a proud Canadian since immigrating from his beloved homeland Greece.

Sammy, Papou, Baba, Sotiri, was truly one of a kind. His love, his heart, his generosity, laugh and his sense of humour
will be! missed and remembered in the hearts by everyone who knew him. In his final minutes, his children said to him “Dad, everybody loves you!”, and he responded, “I love everybody more!”. May he rest in peace and may his memory be eternal.

Thank you to the staff of Toronto General Hospital, particularly the Respirology Team, for their care over the years. Thank you also to the PSW’s and Nursing staff from VHA and the team at ProResp for their compassionate care.
