Nesbitt BrendanNESBITT, Brendan Francis Patrick - At the age of 83, Brendan Nesbitt passed away in Brampton on Thursday, June 3, 2021.

He is greatly loved and will be missed by his family, extended family, friends, and anyone who was lucky enough to know him.

Devoted husband of Wanda (nee Facchin) for 55 years, caring father to Leslie, Stephen, and Jennifer, and cherished Papa to Nicholas, Joshua, Jack and Scarlett.

Brendan was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1938. His parents John and Kathleen, two brothers (Michael and Tony) and three sisters (Madeline, Doreen, and Irene) were undoubtedly among the first to welcome him in Heaven.

Brendan was a great story teller and an even better listener. He could always be counted on to give thoughtful advice and was often the voice of reason. A true gentleman and a class act, he had as many pairs of shoes as Wanda, if not more, and they were polished to a shine.

He was fond of saying that it costs nothing to have good manners. He pulled out chairs for ladies and offered them his seat. If Brendan was ever in charge of keeping glasses full at a family party, we were all in trouble the next day.

Brendan had a passion and talent for soccer and golf. After playing for Arsenal Football Club in England, he played in many leagues here in Canada and spent 10 years coaching his Chinguacousy Soccer Club team to numerous titles. Brendan worked at The National Golf Club after he retired from his day job at Orenda Aerospace when he was 55 years old. We cannot estimate how many rounds of golf he played, but we can guarantee that at no time did he tee off with dirty clubs as these were scrubbed after each round.

Brendan had a natural air of elegance and appreciated the finer things in life. He loved to take the train to Toronto to visit the finest men’s shops for his clothing, and regularly drove to Buffalo to buy leather soled dress shoes because they were so difficult to find locally. That is some commitment to fancy shoes.

In lieu of flowers, have a drink and make a toast to Brendan, hold doors open for strangers, and always dance The Slosh at weddings and parties. We cannot think of a better way to honour our Dad.

A very special thank you to the staff at The Village of Sandalwood Park for their loving care and support.

In light of the current global pandemic with the present restrictions placed on group gatherings, the visitation will be by family’s invitation and services will be private and in compliance with government restrictions. Arrangements are entrusted with Andrews funeral home, Brampton.

Due to policies in place during these unprecedented times, a public Celebration of Life will be announced and held when government restrictions have been lifted.
