SMITH, Leslie Hugh 'Les' - Passed away peacefully on Friday, June 4, 2021 in Maple Grove Care Community at the age of 83.
He is survived by his Loving wife of 61 years Jean. Beloved father to Linda and predeceased by his son Michael. Proud grandfather to Ryan. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his extended family and friends.
Les had a very successful career at Harding Carpets. He enjoyed water colour painting (landscapes), playing the guitar and playing Crokinol with his grandson Ryan. Les and Jean enjoyed travelling to different countries.
It seems like just yesterday that you were still here; Even though our lives now lack regular interaction with you, Your presence is felt in a much deeper way;
With a feeling that can only be experienced by the heart, With a bond that may feel distant now, yet one that can never be broken;
Questions and lack of understanding gradually become replaced with acceptance; We try to understand that God truly does know what is best for us;
While we can’t hold on to the past or cling to the memories, we can Be thankful for the years we spent with you while you were in our lives;
Our human hearts may never fully understand the timing; Yet we realize that you were His to give and therefore, His to take away
Never giving you more that you could handle; Each day bringing you that much closer to your Heavenly home;
As you quietly slipped away, leaving a life filled with pain and suffering in the end, Nothing could possibly compare to the quality of life that you are no experiencing in Heaven.
As we struggle with the loss of your presence in our lives, You will always be loved and never forgotten;
As your memory remains alive in our hearts forever, Instead of wishing you back, we can look forward with hope to reuniting with you in Heaven.
For separation by death is but a temporary measure, Leading to life after death with our loved ones forever.
