Bhandal TariBHANDAL, Tari - (1949 - 2021) - With his devoted wife,Teresa by his side we had to say goodbye to this gentle, precious soul on May 31st, 2021.

Tari was kind and generous to all who knew him and was a constant source of love and strength to his family. Beloved husband of over 40 years to Teresa, cherished father to Catherine (Val) and Sunny and treasured Nonno to Valente and Nicola.

He will be dearly missed by his in-laws, Domenico and Caterina D’Urzo as well as by his siblings, many nieces and nephews and his many friends.

Tari was predeceased by his parents Mit Singh and Dhan Kaur Bhandal.

Tari showed us all the true meaning of courage as he faced and endured the past twelve years with grace and determination. He fought every single day to be brave and strong with a disease that ravaged his entire physical being. When his illness robbed him of his mobility, he became a pillar of strength and even once deprived of his voice he still managed to impart wisdom and inspiration to those honoured to spend time with him.

He exceeded all medical expectations to stay with us as long as he did and each moment together with him remains a gift to his family.

Tari was born on April 4th, 1949, in Punjab, India and spent many happy years enjoying the simple pleasures of life in Toronto, Canada. He took pride in his garden and loved to cook for his family and share stories on any number of topics including his many travels. He was the kind of person who was good at everything and was willing and able to work hard for whatever his family needed. Tari looked forward to quality family time and his much loved-afternoon drives over the years with his own children turned to pretend play and snuggles with his grandsons. Always patient and obliging, he watched many cartoons and was often chauffeured around in his wheelchair by two proud little boys.

Tari was a truly selfless provider who always carried Catherine and Sunny through life and while we had no choice but to let you go, we now carry you in our hearts every single day. You gave us such a beautiful, fulfilling life. We know you will continue to watch over us and inspire us. We will strive to live by your example of dignity, strength and hope. You will be truly missed. To say our hearts are heavy would imply that we actually have feeling in our hearts.

Would it be possible for the earth to function without the sun? This is a question we are now stuck with trying to answer as we are the earth and Dad you were our sun.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Delmoro Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Movement Disorders Centre at Toronto Western Hospital.
