Dave passed peacefully at Sherk's Shack, overlooking Georgian Bay, with his family by his side.
He leaves behind his wife of 70 years, Joan, and his children David (Marnie), Cindy, Kelly (Michael), Stephen (Katie), and Peter (Cindy).
Grandpa was loved by his 8 grandchildren Katie Sherk (Marc), Meghan Sherk (Dylan), Andrew MacKendrick (Eric), Cameron MacKendrick (David), Douglas MacKendrick (Michelle), Kasper Sherk (Sarah), Marshall Sherk (Alexandra), and Elijah Sherk.
28 years ago, Dave and Joan retired to Orillia following their friends, the Corkums, where they enjoyed making new friends.
Dave was proud of his family and valued time spent with them.
The family will celebrate Dave's life later this summer at the cottage.
