Scott MichaelSCOTT, Michael Herbert - It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Scott announces his passing on June 18, 2021.

He was the second of three children born in Kingston, Jamaica on November 10, 1934 to Walter James Scott and Louie Ellalyn Scott.

After graduating from school, he was employed at Standard Life Assurance Company where he worked for many years as a successful Chartered Life Underwriter.

He was well liked and highly respected for his outstanding level of professionalism.

In 1966, he married Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Barrett) and in later years they became the proud parents of a daughter Simone and a son, Gregory.

Michael was a devoted family man and they enjoyed many happy years in Jamaica.

In 1974, Michael and his family migrated to Toronto, Canada where he continued to work at Standard Life Assurance Company for several years. Michael eventually retired from the Hudson's Bay Company in 1988 following the onset of health and mobility challenges.

Despite these challenges, he continued to lead a very productive life, remaining involved and supportive of his family and friends. His life was a wonderful example of integrity, courage, positivity and optimism.

Michael will be greatly missed by his wife Elizabeth, daughter Simone, son Gregory (Sandy) , grandchildren Christian & Lauren, sister Helen (Jules) Jacques, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 30th, 2021 at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham, ON. The Reverend Stephen Kern from St. Phillips on-the-Hill Anglican Church will officiate. The service will be live streamed. Due to the Pandemic regulations, visitation and service attendance must be done in advance.

Memorial donations can be made in Michael's name to Toronto Rehab Foundation, or the charity of your choice.
