JOHNSTON, Ronald (Ron) Ellis   -  It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald (Ron) Ellis Johnston, June 28, 2021, turning 87 June 12th.

Dad to Donna and her partner Derek, Brian and his partner Kear.

He will always be watching over his granddaughter Katie and her fiancé Mathew, partner and best friend to Heather.

Ron was born June 12, 1934 in East York, first of seven children to Winnifred (Alger) and Ellis Johnston, both predeceased 1995 and 1977.

Survived by sisters Gwen of Rochester, NY (George Mackie, predeceased 2002), Patricia of Etobicoke (Harold Gray), Marilyn of Ajax (Bill McBride), Joanne of Belleville (Frank Geisler, predeceased 2018), brothers Bruce of West Hill (Ruby), Bill of Corbyville (Patricia).

Uncle Ron will be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews. Dad started his career as Correctional Officer in Guelph 1960 and retired in Barrie 1992.

He was a longtime member of the Legion and ANAF in Barrie, as well as a past member of the Shriners in Guelph.

Per Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place.  Due to Covid-19, a Celebration of Life, with your presence, memories, laughs would be a delight for us, on Saturday, November 13, 2021, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., at the Army Navy Air Force Club, 52 Morrow Road, Barrie, Ontario.

How perfect and fitting it will be to give thanks for him with all his beloved people in one place and enjoy a light meal together.

Please follow COVID-19 regulations - masks and proof of 2nd vaccination required.

Donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
