FORREST, Mary Rosamond (Burns) - Mom passed peacefully in her sleep July 19, 2021 at the Meighan Retirement Residence in her 101st year.

Predeceased in 2003 by her beloved Husband John Lappen Forrest.

Mother to Charles Forrest (Shackera), Susan Maddock (Robert).

Cherished Grandmother to Jennifer Maddock and Stephanie Rohmer (Andrew).

She adored her family and was excited to be a Great Grandmother to Wyatt and Charles Rohmer.

She was so important to all of us and will be missed terribly.

Born in Peterborough, Ontario in 1921 to Walter Burns and Anna Rosamond Westlake, the youngest sibling to Helen Hind, Grace Lockington, Myrtle Anderson and Ronald Burns. She described the Burns home as full of laughter, music and above all faith. The way homes were in those days.

Mom continued along a spiritual path; her Faith was deep. Along the way she made many close friendships, she was a good listener and a caring friend. Some late-night phone calls, frequently sleep disturbing. She was also a letter-writer, a lost art, and we all received notes of praise, encouragement, occasionally criticism (you know who you are).

During her life she was an active member of the congregation at Emmanuel Anglican Church and the Bible Study group at St Clements. This and her family sustained her for the 18 years after Dad passed.

She lived in her own home until she was 98 then moved to the Meighan and we are very grateful to Gail and her team there who cared for her so well especially during Covid.

A private service will be held at 11:00 on Friday July 23rd at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, Toronto.
