Huff GeorgeHUFF, George Edward - Passed away peacefully in the Markham-Stouffville Hospital on July 22, 2021 in his 81st year after a long battle with cancer.

He is survived by wife Margi, brother Bruce (Janet) Huff, sister-in-law Sheila (Robert) Riske, step-daughters Regan (Keith) Scott and Cori (Joe) Nolette, step-grandchildren Andrew, Aidan, Isabelle and Griffin, godson Scott, many cherished nieces and nephews and dear friends.

He was predeceased by his brother Morris and parents Frank and Phyllis Huff.

George grew up in Prince Edward County at Huffs Corners across the road from the current Huff Estate Winery.

He graduated from McMaster University in 1964 and retired in 1989 as the Curriculum Coordinator of Science for the Scarborough Board of Education.

George enjoyed a second career as an artist and photographer.  He was a passionate collector of art and a Past President of the Markham Group of Artists.  He travelled extensively, visiting all seven continents including Antarctica and the game parks of Africa.

George had an obtuse sense of humour and impeccable taste in fashion and art.  He enjoyed fine food and was part of the Munchies cooking group for decades.  George always looked forward to annual Huff family gatherings and has learned to love both the calm and the chaos of the family cottage.  His compassion, generosity, and kindness will be deeply missed by all.

Friends and family will be received at the Dixon - Garland Funeral Home, Markham on Tuesday July 27th. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
