Beare JannyBEARE, Jantje 'Janny' (Oldenziel) - Passed away on July 20, 2021.

She was born in The Netherlands, where she received her early education. She worked in Paris and Switzerland, and then in London where she met her husband in 1969 and subsequently joined him in Canada.

She studied French literature at York University and then completed two master’s degrees at the University of Toronto, and she also studied at the Sorbonne.

For many years she taught French and English at Holy Trinity School in Richmond Hill.

She loved work, both physical and intellectual, and cultural activities, in particular music and amateur painting. Her disposition was invariably positive and cheerful, and she never lost her sense of humour.

She was a remarkably caring person, active in volunteer activities, and a great friend to her many friends.

A beloved partner in life to her husband John.

A cherished and super-supportive mother to Jonathan (Danielle), Michael (Aili), and Kimberley (Nathaniel), and Oma extraordinaire to Mya, Rhys, Charlotte, Abigail, Evan, Alex and Jens.

Taken from us too soon by pancreatic cancer, despite exceptional care at Princess Margaret Hospital and palliative care at Mt. Sinai.

In lieu of flowers a donation to https://thepmcf.ca or www.tlcpc.org would be welcomed.

A celebration of life will follow in the fall.
