SMITH, Bruce Lumsden - Bruce Lumsden Smith passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 22nd, 2021 at the age of 84.
Beloved husband of 64 years to Betty (nee Richardson).
Predeceased by his cherished daughter Lynne, and survived by his son Greg (Dana) and his son-in-law Jim Peters. Loving Grandfather of Amanda (Evan) and Cassidy (Gorki) and Great-Grandfather of Amelia.
Bruce was a lover of music and gardening. Bruce was an active member of the community and received a Volunteer Award from the City of Toronto in recognition of volunteer excellence and outstanding service to the community. Helping to run the Family Fun Day and Breakfast with Santa for the local children were highlights of his time as the former Vice Chair of the Manse Valley Community Association.
He had a long 38-year career at CN Rail.
The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Kalnins and Bruce’s PSWs – James, Paul and George for their care and support.
Bruce will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday August 3rd, between 6-8pm at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave E., Scarborough with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
