Turp FrederickTURP, Frederick   -  1925 - 2021  Frederick Joseph Turp, CGA, passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side at Humber River Hospital on July 27, 2021 at the age of 96.

Loving husband of the late Evelyn Turp (nee MacDougall), beloved father of Kathryn MacDougall Turp, brother to the late Ruby Lewis, Uncle to Brenda McHeady (Brian), Dianne Nowoselski (John) and Brad Lewis (Martha) and caring friend to many, young and old.

Fred was an old school gentleman and many people appreciated his friendliness and kindness.

Fred grew up in Mimico and spent the rest of his life in Etobicoke, beginning work as a young man for the Township, later the Borough and culminating his career as the Treasurer of the City of Etobicoke.

Fred was an avid reader and lover of knowledge, particularly enjoying mysteries and non-fiction related to Canadian history and the World Wars. Admired for his sharp intellect, Fred had a wide range of knowledge.

It was often said, "Before there was Google, we called Fred". Sharp and quick witted until the end, in recent years, he engaged in a daily trivia competition with his daughter, winning many days.

Thank you to Gael Hepworth for her care and friendship over the past five years and to the staff of Humber River Hospital for their compassion and support over the past two weeks.

Fred's sense of humour, positive outlook on life and focus on enjoying the everyday will continue to be an inspiration to many who knew him.

Those of us who loved Fred will raise a glass (with a white wine spritzer, of course) and toast to a life well lived.
