Meyers LouisMYERS, Dr. Louis - (1920-2021) - After a life well-lived and at an age he never expected to see, Lou died at home on August 27, 2021 a man devoted to his family, his profession and his community.

Beloved husband of Bea and the late Molly, .

Bevoted father of the late Esther, Miriam (Robert), Leah and Barry (Sarah) and dear stepfather to Bill, Bob (Tina) and Marsha (Fred), and Papa Lou to ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

To his family, he was a role model for constancy and integrity, and supported each of his children in all their chosen endeavours.

He and his beloved Bea shared more than forty wonderful years together and created a loving home for their blended family. He fully appreciated every minute of their life together.

Lou's was an immigrant's story, coming to Canada as a toddler with his mother Lily, to join his father Morris who had arrived earlier from a shtetl in Poland. He and his brother Earl, with whom he shared a close lifelong friendship, grew up in downtown Jewish Toronto, helping their parents in the family grocery store.

He was committed to community through involvement in synagogue life and Jewish education, chairing the board of the United Synagogue Day School and the Board of Jewish Education. He generously provided his philanthropic support to many Jewish and other community organizations.

Lou truly lived his values every day. Intelligent and intellectually curious, he was admired and respected by those whose lives he touched. He is already and will always be deeply missed.

We are grateful to Annalyn, Julia and especially Joy who took such wonderful care of him in recent years.

Lou will be buried on Sunday August 29th at Beth Tzedec Cemetery at a private family service. Family Shiva.

Memorial donations may be made to the Louis Myers Memoiral Fund c/o the Benjamin Foundation.
