Darmody JosephDARMODY, Joseph Patrick   -  With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Joseph Patrick Darmody at home on Sunday, September 12, 2021.

Much loved brother to Mary, Michael, Patrick (Sue), Anne (Ed), Dianne (Steve), Theresa, Susan (Tim), Catherine (Denis, deceased) and John (Carrie), and uncle (and great-uncle!) to 18 nieces and nephews, and 6 grandnieces and grandnephews.

Joseph's wit, humour, big heart and generous spirit will be sorely missed.

Predeceased by parents Michael and Helen Darmody.

Born in Toronto, Joe spent many years in the Wiarton community where he formed many meaningful and treasured relationships. He will be sadly missed by the many wonderful people he met there.

Joe was a great believer in the power of prayer, and his poster-sized prayer to St. Jude was living testament to both his humour ("I gotta remember to keep saying that!") and his courage to stand firm in a constantly changing world.

Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral Mass at St. Joan of Arc Church, 1701 Bloor Street West, Toronto on Friday, September 17th at 11 a.m.  Interment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation home and Community Care Program or Nawash Food Bank, Salvation Army Wiarton, or CAMH.
