CASSIDY, Cintra Cassidy, M.D.,  -  September 10, 2021, at St. Michael's Hospital, in Toronto, Ontario.

Born Cintra Moosai-Maharaj on October 30, 1936, in San Fernando, Trinidad, she grew up on the island before venturing across the ocean to obtain her medical degree in Ireland.

While studying at Trinity College in Dublin, she met her lifelong love and future husband, Dr. Patrick Cassidy.

In 1970, she decided to cross the ocean yet again, immigrating to Canada with her young family and eventually settling in Belleville, Ontario, where she went on to raise her beloved sons, Steven and David.

A true force of nature, with a quick wit and uncompromising sense of humour to the day she died, Cintra is survived by her son David Cassidy and daughter-in-law Yulia Ochetova, her treasured granddaughter Olivia, sister Sonia Chater (Keith), brother Gerry Moosai-Maharaj (Dorothy), sisters-in-law Nuala Cowan (Edgar) and Elizabeth Boardman, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, who will dearly miss her indomitable spirit.

Due to COVID restrictions, the memorial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Cintra requested that donations be made to Oxfam or Save the Children.
