Mazzara StefanoMAZZARA, Stefano Antonino - After a courageous battle with MDS the cancer progressed into a severe form of Leukemia. With heavy hearts the family announces that Stefano passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.

Stefano was born in Valderice, Trapani on April 2, 1944 and was raised in Buseto Palizzolo, Trapani, Sicily.

He worked in Switzerland as an Apprentice, on his return to Sicily he was conscripted into the Italian Navy where he patriotically served his beloved country for 2 years.

He left his cherished family in 1967 and came to Canada in search of a better future. He was employed for over 20 years at the TTC as a Tool & Die Maker.

He met his devoted wife of many years Kathleen (Kathy) Flynn in Toronto and they were married at Epiphany of Our Lord Parish by Fr. Vito Marziliano.

Steve will be sadly missed by his children Catherine, Michael and Carlo and by his Stepchildren, Lesley-Anne (Steve), Matthew (Kelly) and his grandson Christopher.

He also leaves behind in Sicily, his precious family, sister Giuseppina (Pina) (Salvatore), his brother Leonardo (Aldo) (Nuccia) and his nephews, nieces and family in England.

He was an outdoor sportsman, loved Italian opera and enjoyed as much quality time as possible at his beloved cottage with his family.  With an engineer’s mind and the hands of a fine fabricator, he was a genius at anything mechanical, loved fishing on the
lake and tending to his vegetable gardens.

We love you dearly and will be forever in our hearts!

Family and friends are invited to the Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough on Sunday, September 26, 2021. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Epiphany of Our Lord Parish, 3200 Pharmacy Avenue on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Brechin, Ontario.
