HAARINK, Jan - February 29, 1944 - September 20, 2021
It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jan Haarink, 77, on September 20, 2021.
He remained strong and positive throughout his struggle with lung cancer.
Jan is survived by his wife of 48 years, Wendy, his daughter Lisa, and son Steve.
He was born in Enschede, Holland to Berendina and John Haarink on February 29, 1944.
Upon his arrival to Canada 1967, Jan began his career in electronics, becoming a pioneer in computer hardware and software design, contributing to the advancements that lead to the wireless technology of today.
He was still contributing at the age of 77.
All are welcome to the gravesite service at Plot R, Lot 13/14 of Mount Pleasant Cemetery Toronto at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 27.
