MacLennan ElvaMacLENNAN, Elva Jean (nee LEMON)   -  Our family is saddened to announce the death of Grandma MacLennan, on September 19, 2021, but we can rejoice in the memory of the 97 years in which she brought happiness and kindness to all whom she met.

We remember her gracious hospitality, awesome chocolate chip cookies, knitted sweaters and her devotion to others.

We had the good fortune to gather four generations at the lake in August to celebrate all that Jean meant to our family and all that family meant to Jean.

Jean was predeceased by her husband Alan (1969) and son Doug (2007).

She leaves her son John (Jane), grandchildren Matthew (Laura), Michael (Natalie), Kate (Dr. Kevin Gregg) and Rosannagh (Nick Snow) as well as six adored great-grandchildren (Marlowe, Esmée, Zoe, Leah, Kieran and Maëlle), daughter-in-law Gail Taylor (Dave Gordon) and special niece Ann Briggs (Ted Allen), who called Jean daily.

The family would like to thank her exceptional caregivers: Dr. Nancy Bozek, Kathy McKee, and Theresa Broadbent.

As well as acknowledge the incredible care that she received from her daughter-in-law Jane during the time that she lived in Huntsville.

A service of remembrance will be held at Islington United Church, 25 Burnamthorpe Road, Etobicoke, on Friday, October 1, 2021. at 10:30 a.m. and livestreamed on the church's website.

Preregistration at www.islingtonunited.org, to attend the service is essential, as space is limited.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Islington United Church or The Huntsville Hospital Foundation, in Jean's memory.
