Miller CissieMILLER, Cissie Stobbie (nee MEIKLEHAM)   - January 19, 1935 - October 4, 2021

Peacefully passed away at Sunnybrook Hospital. Dear wife to John, loving mother of Kirsten (John) and Heidi (Jonathan), and the proudest and most doting grandmother of Caitlin and Emma Wright, and Alexandra and Campbell Hamilton.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Cissie helped her widowed mother raise her 3 younger brothers, John, Archie and Dan.

She was a diligent student, skillful seamstress, knitter, and champion sprinter. In 1961, wanderlust brought her to Toronto to "test the waters".

She quickly found employment, and a husband, while immersing herself in Canadian life with bowling, badminton, tennis and skiing. Her marriage to John in 1964 brought 57 years of wonderful family life and enduring friendships.

Family summers included coast to coast Canadian camping trips, frequent trips "home" to Scotland, and entertaining friends and family at the cottage in Bala.

Cissie valued her many close friends from her earliest years in Canada and within her gourmet dinner groups, Armour Heights Presbyterian Church, and through her time spent in administration at the former North York Board of Education.

She loved a heated political discussion, simple yet classic style, watching Jeopardy and a good cup of tea. She adored her grandchildren and watched them grow with the utmost pride. The family wishes to thank the palliative team on K1C at Sunnybrook Hospital for their care and compassion.

As per her wish, a private celebration of a life well lived will take place at a future date.

For those who wish, donations in memory of Cissie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital.
