Ross CoreyROSS, Corey Alexander - Corey Alexander Ross tragically passed away on October 2nd 2021 in Mississauga Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. Corey was yet another victim of Deep Vascular Thrombosis (DVT) being mis/undiagnosed by the Canadian Health Care system.

Corey is survived by his loving parents Anne & Lawrence, older brother Michael, dog Luke, best friend Sami, aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends.

Corey was a talented and well respected Machinist/Tool & Die Maker who worked as an integral part of the Top Grade Molds family in Mississauga. His superiors and co-workers speak very highly of Corey’s knowledge, ability, attitude, work ethic and show tremendous admiration for his dedication to his trade. They have expressed extreme sadness at his passing and will miss him tremendously!

Corey was the definition of the strong, silent type. He was always content keeping his opinion to himself but when he spoke, people listened. He was the type of person you could sit and enjoy 5 minutes of straight silence with and not feel uncomfortable. Corey had an ability to attract people to him simply by his demeanor. You knew how he felt about you within the first 5 seconds of meeting him. If he didn’t like you, he didn’t give you his time... if he liked you, he gave you his attention... if he loved you, he gave you his respect, love and loyalty and expected all of that in return. His love was endless and it was these qualities that drew people towards him and had people wanting to be in his life.

Growing up, Corey was such a well-rounded kid. He loved football, skateboarding, art, rap music, Japanese game show Most Extreme Elimination Challenge, Trailer Park Boys, Boondocks and Dragonball-Z. Corey was an all-star running back for the Mississauga Warriors and for St. Joan of Arc Arc Angels and the St. Marcellinus Spirit high schools. He also showed off his artistic side, having completed several amazing art pieces during his high-school years that his family still cherishes to this day.

In his adult life, Corey continued his athletic pursuits as a passionate powerlifter who had high aspirations to one day compete at the National and International level. He loved to fish, having recently spent a week at his Uncle’s camp in Port Loring, Ontario fishing every morning with his brother and father. He was also an avid golfer, who had progressed from a 25+ handicap two years ago to shooting his first round in the 80’s (86) this summer! In short, Corey excelled at everything he was passionate about.

Corey was a loving son and brother who valued family over everything. He went out of his way to make sure his family was okay, specifically always making time for his mother. Their Costco runs on Sunday morning will never be forgotten and we will always have a 4th place set at the dinner table for our Sunday dinners.

Corey was considered to be the best of us by all who met him. It is truly a tragedy that a man as good as he was had to be taken from us so soon. His family and his friends' hearts are broken but the memories of our beloved Corey will forever live on through the many, many people he impacted throughout his life.

We are asking that all those who read this Obituary become more informed on the risks of Deep Vascular Thrombosis and Pulmonary Embolism, as no one deserves to lose their lives or a brother, son, friend, to a very treatable condition because of a lack of understanding as to the severity of these conditions. For more information please visit: https://thrombosiscanada.ca/.

We also ask that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Thrombosis Canada and Salvation Army. Donation links and service arrangements are entrusted with Scott funeral home, Mississauga chapel.
