Wright LeoWRIGHT, Leo Bernard - Passed away suddenly at his Etobicoke home on October 9, 2021, in his 95th year.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara, devoted father to Maureen (Burke Carroll), Tom (Donna), Bill (Diane), Leo (Lita), and Marilyn Penny (Steve, d. 2019). Proud grandfather to Alicia, Christopher (Paulina), Kyle (Alex Young), Derek (Ted Kellow), Amanda, Samantha, and great-grandfather to Spencer, Holden, Willa, and McCoy.

Leo lived his life with a strong Christian faith, a sense of adventure, a fierce determination, and a deep love and commitment to his family. His friendships at church, the Knights of Columbus, at his figure skating club, in his Etobicoke neighbourhood, and at Wasaga Beach were enduring and energizing. He always wanted to know if you had any news!

Leo was a skilled cabinet maker and in addition to beautiful furniture, he built two cottages. He could fix just about anything and left no stone unturned when he set out to solve a problem, either for himself or anyone else. Many benefited from Leo’s counsel on all matters financial due to his work as Vice-President (Finance) at Commercial Credit.

Ever the snappy dresser, Leo refused to wear blue jeans and always donned his best for church and visiting. He was a bargain-hunter to his core, ready for any emergency with his stockpile of supplies.

His hospitality was legendary and he was always there to help anyone at any time. Although Leo will be greatly missed, he will never be forgotten.

Arrangements and livestream church service details are entrusted with Newediuk Funeral Home Kipling Chapel.

Private interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Stayner, Ontario.
