Sturino MarySTURINO, Mary Emma   - August 31, 1928 - October 9, 2021

Mary was born and raised in the Junction; her parents Carmen and Teresa Prezio were hardworking immigrants from Calabria, Italy.

Mary had four brothers and a strong bond with each of them and had a special relationship with Frank and his wife Janet.

They travelled together and spent many days on the senior bus to the casino.

Mary met her husband Otty at a local dance and their romance began.

They were wed on April 3, 1948 and were blessed with four children Jim (Carole), Ron (Brenda), Larry (Dian) and Rick(Caroline).

Mary and Otty lived a good life together raising their children in Etobicoke and for a brief period they lived in Hawaii.

Mary lost her husband in 1998 and carried on, learning to play bridge in her 60s.

She was fiercely loyal and devoted to her family, hosting Christmas Eve dinner, Easter and Thanksgiving at her home.

Her love for her 11 grandchildren: Chris (Natalie), Carla (Carlo), Nikki (Andrew), Mark, Paul, Alisha (Adam), Jesse (Yurani), Joey (Maria), Hayley, Audrey and Mia was unforgettable. Later in life her most joyous moments came from spending time with her 10 great-grandchildren.

Mary was a strong woman with a strong personality.

She fought hard over the last few months of her life and at the end knew it was her time.

The family would like to thank her amazing care givers, Michele, Noemi, Juanita, Joy and Khatrina.

The immediate family will gather for a private funeral and will host a celebration of life at a later date.
